AVEX’s founder and owner David Throldahl, has been involved in the audiovisual business for 20 years.  Hired as an entry level Technician, David worked his way to Director of Operations at two different firms in the Twin Cities area.  As his career evolved, he gained experience in virtually every aspect of the industry from applying technical and management skills in the field on projects locally and around the country, to rising through the ranks of corporate management.

His exposure to the inner workings of the industry provided him with the opportunity to work with local, regional, and national audiovisual companies. In doing so, David observed a similar approach to conducting business.   He believed these companies consistently fell short of his own vision and definition of service.  Not only did he see opportunities for vast improvement in overall service, but also an opportunity to maximize the potential of talented people; the best of whom were often under-motivated and flatly compensated. 

Entrepreneurship presented David an opportunity to change that environment, thus AVEX was launched.  Believing an engaged employee will work harder and take better care of the clients they come in contact with, David implemented a dynamic pay structure to not only treat his employees with the respect and pay they deserve but also deliver top level performance to clients.  This philosophy of motivation through shared success, paired with a market starving for a higher level of service, resulted in AVEX rapidly gaining market share.
